Its mission is based on the need for Colombian cultural awareness by working with youth, professional guest artists, dance companies, and international festivals.
Tierra Colombiana, Inc., also known as Tierra Colombiana Dance Ensemble was founded in February 1992 by Guilibaldo “Gil” Criollo, Martha Jiménez, and Gabriel Rodriguez. Under the artistic dirección of Edgar Serna, Tierra Colombiana became the only Colombian Dance Company in Chicago and the Midwest. Tierra Colombiana is a realization of Cultural pride and education.
